PointWatch Eclipse PIRECL is an open-path infrared hydrocarbon gas detector that uses infrared absorption technology to detect flammable gases in the air. It measures the gas concentration over a line-of-sight path (typically 5–60 meters). The detector is designed for hazardous areas and is widely used where fast, reliable detection of methane, propane, ethylene and other hydrocarbons is required without false alarms from poisons or contaminants.
